Team dinner
An Olympic tradition took place once again last night as Getty Images had our team dinner. The dinner consisted of all Getty staff in town (around 80) for the games and a majority of our local Beijing office. Adam Pretty, a transplanted Aussie who now resides in Beijing, picked out the restaurant called the Southwest Ministry. The restaurant serves food from the Szechuan Province, a part of Southern China where the food typically is spicy. The food at the party didn’t disappoint where we had such dishes as ribs, melon, noodles, and rice dishes. During dinner members of our executive committee said short speeches and we posed for a group photo but once the pics and speeches were done the fun began. Not only did Adam pick out the restaurant but he also hired a DJ (the DJ had the coolest shirt on.) The DJ got the dancing going but with about 70 guys to just about 10 girls the dancing didn’t last long until… Cargo. We had to go back to the same club where just a week earlier we drank the clubs supply of Grey Goose. This time however, the size of our group was out of control. With about 40 people all doing pretty well after the team dinner we packed into what we think is one of Beijing’s finest clubs. While we were the only Westerners there, it makes just added to the experience. And this was all on a Tuesday night nonetheless and the club was packed. The night was great and let’s just say for the 40 or so people who went to Cargo getting out of bed for our 11 a.m. team meeting was not easy.
I'm going to add the pics shortly... Still waiting on a couple
